Songs of the Humpback Whale - CD
Audio CD (August 25, 1998) - Price Range: UNDER $14
|
If you've read the story in 'EAR on the SEA' E-zine you will recognize the title 'Songs of the Humpback Whale" as 'THE' recording which changed history. Originally released in the early 1970's, it introduced the general public to the beautiful and haunting songs made by humpback whales. People started demanding that these incredible creatures be preserved; they wanted to see them with their own eyes. It helped bring about the death of the WHALE KILLING industry and fostered the birth of WHALE WATCHING! This is a collection of songs sung by real Humpback Whales. They were recorded by Roger Payne and Frank Watlington using a hydrophone (underwater microphone). This CD edition was just released in 1998. If you are ordering either of the books above, get this CD and play it while you enjoy the books.
The "Among Whales" book (mentioned above) and "Songs of the Humpback Whale" CD make a fantastic gift for all ages!
